The Word "JIVA"

In Hinduism and Jainism, a jiva (Sanskrit: जीव, jīva alternate spelling, jiwa) is a living being[1], or more specifically the immortal essence of a living being (human, animal, fish or plant etc...) which survives physical death[2]. It has a very similar usage to 'atma', but whereas atma refers to 'the self', 'jiva' is used to denote a 'living entity' or 'living being' specifically. The concept of the jiva is similar, but not necessarily identical to, the concept of the soul as presented in Abrahamic religions. The word itself originates from the Sanskrit Jivás, with the root jīv- 'to breathe'. It has the same Indo-European root as the Latin word Vivus: "Alive".

The above definition is from Wikepedia. Also, in Chinese, the word "Chi" means the same as "Ji"; that is prana or the life force and both tied up with the breath that animates the consciousness.

In Jyotish the birth chart time is determined by the first breath the new born takes. And the aim of the JIVA concept is to take souls from JIVA (individuality) to SIVA (Godhood) through its metaphoric language in the play of consciousness and Light (Jyotish) and "see" the unity in diversity.

A Brotherhood Blog Bantering Brains (fundamental discrimination) with Brawns (dharmic courage) advocating for an Atmic Advaitic Baba Association (BABA - the Siva Father!). From a Jyotish I-saight Vedantic Association (JIVA) to Sathya I-Sai-ight Association (SIVA). Through the light of knowledge to the Truth that transcends knowledge.
